Mr. Jimmy Lee Smith Jr.

Jimmy Lee Smith, Jr., affectionately known as Jimbo, Lil Jimmy, and Dizzy, was born on February 4, 1986, to his parents, Jimmy Lee Smith, Sr. and Debra Brewton White. He was the apple of their eye and was loved beyond words. Jimmy Jr. was also loved beyond words by his second mom, Pansy Joyce Smith. On July 2, 2026, his purpose on this earth was completed, and God called him from labor to his eternal rest. Jimmy Jr. accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age at Saint James Missionary Baptist Church in Coconut Grove, Miami, Florida, under the leadership of Rev. Alphonso Jackson, Sr. His favorite scripture was Philippians 4:13: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." He attended Peach County Elementary School in Fort Valley, Georgia; Richmond Heights Middle School and Killian High School in Miami, Florida; and later moved to Colorado, where he reunited with his mother, Debra. He loved sports and excelled at them all. His favorite team was the Raiders. He lived by the belief that life would change by putting good into the world and by loving God and his friends. His big, infectious smile and laughter reflected the true-blue love he showed through those characteristics. Jimmy Jr. spent his earlier years living in the home of his grandmother in Fort Valley, Georgia. She provided a loving home and nurtured her grandson, whom she affectionately called Lil Jimmy. Of course, he truly relished the big, squeezy hugs she often gave. She taught him the value of love through the God she served at St. Louis C.M.E. Church. He participated in church services, sang in the choir, and attended Summer V.B.S. He worked hard to support himself through many managerial and labor-oriented jobs. His last place of employment was Kroger. His hobbies were sports, music, music, music, traveling, and graphic design. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert Ross, Sr. and Annie Lee Ross, and his brother, Wayne A. Williams. He is survived by his children, Kianna M. Smith and Iana M. Carlson; his parents, Jimmy (Pansy) L. Smith, Sr., of Miami, Florida, and Debra (George) Brewton White; his grandfather, Cornelius Brewton, of Marianna, Florida; his sisters, Denise James, Nadine Williams, and Cassandra (Toni) Neil; his brothers, Jimmelle L. Smith and Gregory Williams; his aunts, Mary Bass, Florine (Steve) Sturn, of Fort Valley, Georgia, Valerie Bostic, and Sherrie Brewton, of Lexington, Kentucky; and his uncles, Adam Brewton and Kevin Smith. He also leaves to cherish his memory a host of great-aunts and great-uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family, and friends.
