Mrs. Helen Marie Lewis

Helen Marie Lewis, 78, peacefully entered eternal rest on Friday, October 24, 2025, in Georgetown, Kentucky. She was born in Scott County on November 26, 1946, to the late William H. Graves, Sr. and Flora Williams Graves. Helen was a proud graduate of Georgetown High School. She was a dedicated and hardworking woman who spent many years in assembly at Mallard Pen & Pencil Company and Clark Equipment. Helen built a beautiful home filled with love and laughter alongside her husband, William T. Lewis. Together, they raised their daughter and three stepchildren. Her home was known as a place of warmth and welcome—where Sunday dinners, game nights, and sleepovers brought family and friends together. Helen’s kitchen was filled with love, laughter, and the sweet aroma of her world-famous pancakes on Saturday mornings. A woman of deep faith, Helen was a devoted member of Zion Baptist Church in Georgetown, where she joyfully served as an usher. With her radiant smile and kind spirit, she greeted members and visitors alike, making all feel at home in the House of the Lord. Helen lived faithfully and prayerfully. Her gentle spirit, steadfast love, and joyful presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice knowing she has received her heavenly reward and now rests safely in the arms of her Savior. She was preceded in death by her parents; Her stepson, Tommy Lewis, her sisters, Mary Howard, Sedalia White, and Nanci Edwards, her brothers, John Harvey Graves and Tony Darnell Graves; her sisters-in-love, Leticia Graves, Roberta Graves, and Myrtle Graves, brother-in-love Lee Howard, her nieces, Shelly Payton, Nikki Edwards and Tina Graves and two beloved grandchildren, LaShawn Lewis and Blake Hines. Helen leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, William; her daughter, Claudette Christopher of Georgetown; her stepchildren, Anthony Lewis and Yolanda (Germayne) Stepp, Sr, both of Lexington; Daughter-in-law Ashley Rose-Lewis; her grandchildren, Anthony (Tonisha) Palmer, Antoine (Dametrus) Palmer, A.J. Lewis, Kiegan Lewis, and Alyssa Lewis; and her great-grandchildren, Alexis Palmer, Ashton Palmer, Kyra Palmer, Ava Palmer, Ka-Mauri Lewis, Kegan Lewis, Emery Marks, Germayne Stepp, Jr, Antoine Castro She is also survived by her brothers, William Graves Jr. of Anchorage, AK, Robert Graves of Dayton, OH, Charles (Ann) Graves of Georgetown, KY, and Frank (Patricia) Graves of Lexington, KY; her sisters, Flora V. Graves of Georgetown, KY, and Nettie (Rev. Leondous) Frye of Winchester, KY, Lifelong Friend, Donna Thompson; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who loved her dearly.
