Norma Jean Brown was born on January 13, 1940, to the late James H. Brown, Sr. and Josephine Brown in Lexington, Kentucky. She passed away on Friday, June 25, 2021, after a brief illness. Norma was employed by Hyatt Hotels as a supervisor for a number of years until her retirement. She had a sparkling smile and was always willing to offer a helping hand at any time. And oh, how she loved to dance! Besides her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her two brothers, George H. Brown and James “Buck” Hunter Brown, Jr.; three of her sisters, Laura Lindsay, Claudia B. Brown and Virginia Holly; and her son-in-law, Rodney Powell. Norma leaves to cherish her memory, two children, Stephanie Powell and James Lee Jackson; four grandchildren, Kiana Davis, Kierra Wayne, Jimicia Clay and Yohunna Clay; three great-grandchildren, Jah'mari Clay, Joshua Greer, Jr. and Synaii Clay; her two surviving sisters, Carolyn Shy and Lucille Newby; as well as a bonus son, Antonio “Tony” Davis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and many devoted friends.
