Josephine Naomi Beatty was born December 24, 1935, to the late Alphonso and Elizabeth Jackson in Lexington, Kentucky. She passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, February 13, 2022, at the age of 86. She was the oldest of four children. Josephine attended Douglas High School and graduated as valedictorian in 1953. She gave her life to Christ at the age of 13 and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church Bracktown for 73 years. She joyfully served as a Sunday School Teacher, Choir Member, and on the Missionary Society. She was united in holy matrimony to Willard Beatty Sr. on September 9, 1955. She was a wealth of wisdom and a self-driven Bible scholar. She was a loving wife, loyal and compassionate sister, an awesome mother, a thoughtful mother-in-love, an exemplary grandmother, a playful great-grandmother, and a special aunt. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Willard Beatty Sr., her parents, Alphonso and Elizabeth Jackson; and her eldest son, Stewart Beatty Jr. Josephine leaves to cherish her memory a devoted son, Dale (Gwendolyn) Beatty Sr. of Lexington, Kentucky, two sisters: Loretta Clark, Indianapolis, Indiana and Edna (Harry) Madison, Louisville, Kentucky; one brother: Alphonso (Carolyn) Jackson, Dayton, Ohio; two granddaughters: Dionne (Greg) Wims, and Tayler Beatty, both of Lexington; two grandsons: Dale (Ashley) Beatty Jr., Nicholasville, Kentucky, and Stewart Beatty III; four great-grandchildren: Tayen Caywood, Gregory James Wims II, Parker Gwendolyn Wims, and Peyton Naomi Wims, all of Lexington; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and close family friends.
