Harold Lightsey of Lexington, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, March 1st, 2022. He was 79 years old. Harold was born on December 22, 1942 to Curtis and Lela Lightsey in East Lake Weir, Florida, the eldest son of eight children. He graduated from Jones High School, Orlando, FL in 1961, and began his college education majoring in Engineering attending Tennessee State University, Nashville, TN. There he also became an accomplished Pilot as a member of the Alpha Eta Rho, International Aviation Fraternity. In 1963, while in college Harold met Leatha King, the love of his life and would later be married. Harold and Leatha have two sons Keith and Sean. Harold enlisted in the United States Marine Corps Reserve in 1965, serving to the rank of Corporal before honorably discharged in 1971. After military service, he would return to Nashville, TN to start his professional career in manufacturing. For better opportunity, Harold moved his family to Lexington, Kentucky in 1979. There he would become Production Superintendent at Bundy Tubing/T.I. Automotive, Cynthiana, KY for 22 years until accepting early retirement. After retiring in 2001, Harold re-entered the workforce, working over the course of several years for Lexington Community College/ BCTC, Walmart, and Saint Joseph Hospital. He also started and ran a Cleaning company for many years. In his leisure time Harold would enjoy flying his plane, motorcycling, classic movies/TV, music, UK football, and spending time with his family and friends. Harold was predeceased by parents Curtis and Lela; sisters Barbara and Ruby; and brother Ronnie. He is survived by his wife, Leatha; two sons, Keith and Sean; two grandchildren Michaela and Nadia; His three sisters Inez, Dorthy, and Carolyn; and brother Wayne.
