Mr. Charles "Caldonie" Glenn Lewis Sr.

Charles Glenn “Caldonie” Lewis, Sr. son of the late Louise and James Lewis, Jr. was born February 17, 1932 in Jessamine County, Kentucky and departed this life Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at U.K. Medical Center after a brief illness. Charles confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at Marble Creek Baptist Church, (Nicholasville, Kentucky). He was educated in the Jessamine County Public School system and retired from Semicon Association after 20 years of faithful service. In his early years, Charles loved riding his motorcycle, talking on the CB and was affectionately known as “Boss Hog”, and cutting tobacco. Besides his parents, Charles was preceded in death by a daughter: Judy Jones, siblings: Mary Cokey, Bessie Russell, John Lewis, Robert Lewis, Raymond Lewis, and Roy Lewis, and a special brother-in-law: Charles Shelton. Charles leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife of 61 years: Evelyn Lewis, children: Charles G. Lewis, Jr., Bert L. Lewis, Narriman (Calvin) McDowell, Donna M. (Ture’) Pearson, Roderick C. (Sharon) Lewis, Rodney D. (Amy) Lewis, Joyce E. (Aaron) Mosley, and Victor T. Lewis, a grandson he raised: Scott Hersey, siblings: James (Laura) Lewis, (Frederick, Maryland), William (Helen) Lewis, and Nellie (Frank) Jones, sisters-in-law: Mary (Clarence) Hardin, (Grand Rapids, Michigan), and Marian Lewis, brother-in-law: Carey Shelton, Jr., twenty grandchildren, a treasure trove of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Charles never met a stranger and always loved helping others.
