Avon Myran McLain, Sr. was born May 10, 1952 to James and Earnestine McLain in Baltimore, Maryland. Avon was educated in the Baltimore City Public School and graduated from Forest Park High School in 1971. In 1972, he enlisted in the U.S Army on the Buddy System with his friends Keith Hill and Michael Powell. Avon received several medals while in the Army, such as Sharp Shooter and Expert Auto Rifle. Avon was an employee of Toyota for fifteen years until his illness. Avon was full of life and loved to dress. He was a great bowler and had a love for remote control cars, trucks, boats, and helicopter. In 1996, Avon met Gwyn Thomas and in 2008 they were married. Avon leaves to cherish his memory, his parents, James and Earnestine McLain, a loving wife, Gwyn McLain; six children, Avon McLain, Jr., Antonio McLain, Deia McLain, Rico Marks, Terence Marks, and Bradley (Candice) Richardson, Jr.; nine grandchildren; a brother, Michael McLain; a sister, Roslyn (Wayne) Powell; a mother-in-law Ruby Thomas; two sisters-in-law, Anna (George) McCraw, and Lisa (Derrick) Sanders; two brothers-in-law, William Russell, and Lynn Thomas; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins including Tyrone Dyson and many friends including Walter Fields.
