Ms. Rose Marie Vinson

Rose, lovingly known as Chappie, was born May 12, 1947, in Akron, Ohio to Everlee and Horace Vinson, Sr. She was the sixth of ten children. Chappie graduated from South High School in Akron, Ohio and the University of Akron. Chappie retired from Bank One (Chase Bank). Chappie loved God, her family, her Church, and her Church family. She was a Sabbath School teacher and usher at her previous churches and a Sabbath Schoo1 teacher at Lima Drive SDA for 18 years. Despite her declining health, Chappie was an active member of the Card ministry at Lima Drive SDA. Her love of and dependence on God, gave her the strength to remain dedicated to her duties and responsibilities at Lima Drive SDA. She often spoke lovingly of Pastor McIntyre and Lima Drive SDA members. Chappie loved reminiscing about childhood memories with her siblings, spending time with her family, and completing crossword puzzles. She loved the zoo and her granddaughter’s Dasha cooking. Chappie had big dreams for you Z! She was proud that you could overcome obstacles and that you were resilient Keep moving forward Z and remember she is still cheering you on! Chappie was preceded in death by her parents Everlee and Horace, Sr., Sisters, Alyce and Dorothy; Brothers, Robert, Charles, and Terry; grandson Kobe and Mychael. She leaves to cherish her memories bothers, Horace (Sonny) of Warner Robbins, GA; David, Michael, and Leroy (Brenda) of Akron, Ohio; daughters Everlee and Everlyn of Akron, Ohio; Terry (Tiffany) of Lancaster, KY; Keith Brewer of Akron, Cierra of Dayton; grandchildren, Dasha of Columbus Ohio; Aysia of Maryland; Rodney (Christina) of Canton, Ohio; Cherish and Destini of Akron, Ohio; Makaylynn of Everest, WA; Brooklynn, Kendra, Essence, of Lancaster; Devyn, Shayne, and Skye of Winchester, KY; her devoted caregiver, daughter, and friend, Rebecca of Georgetown, KY; special friends Miss Gloria and Miss Loda Powell. Chappie also leaves to cherish her memories, 12 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law, family, and special friends Alberta Carter, Charlene Carter, Alice Durant, Howard Carter, and Patricia Carter. Chappie will be missed and cherished forever. WE LOVE YOU Chappie!!
