Mr. Mark Dewayne Campbell

Mark DeWayne Campbell, 50, of Lexington, Kentucky, was born on January 20, 1976, to Victoria "Vicky" Wooten and the late James Campbell in Louisville, KY. He departed this life on July 3, 2026. Mark was educated in the Fayette County Public Schools system and was a proud graduate of Bryan Station High School, Class of 1994. A loyal Defender through and through, he never missed an opportunity to say, "Go Defenders!" He was baptized at Main Street Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Benjamin Stanley Baker, where his faith journey began. During his high school years, Mark was an outstanding football player. As a proud member of the Bryan Station Defenders football team, he wore jersey #41 and helped lead the team to District and Regional Runner-Up finishes in 1993. His love for sports never faded. He was a devoted University of Kentucky Wildcats fan, and whenever the Cats were playing, you could count on Mark being somewhere watching and cheering them on. Mark also loved to laugh and loved watching Druski's comedy. His sense of humor and easygoing spirit made him a joy to be around. Known by many as a master painter, Mark took great pride in his craft. His work can be found throughout Lexington on homes, businesses, and gas stations, leaving behind a lasting mark on the community he loved. Among family traditions, he proudly served as the official judge of his Aunt Renee Ashley's famous macaroni and cheese, always insisting she make an entire pan just for him. Mark was preceded in death by his father, James Campbell; his grandfathers, Floyd Robey, Ir. and Clarence Campbell; his grandmother, Onie Campbell; and his uncles, Floyd Robey III, Paul Robey, and Clarence Campbell, Jr. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Victoria "Vicky" Wooten; his sisters, Star Campbell and Riviera Campbell; his longtime girlfriend, Jinelle Morton; his nephews, Kei’Aja Campbell and Kyran Campbell; his great-nephew, Kei'san Campbell; his great-niece, Kei’Rra Campbell; Close cousin Tommy Jenkins and special friends with whom He shared a friendship for over thirty years, Jason Bond, Brian Harden and Monty English, Curtis Hooten along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure the memories they shared with him. Mark's legacy lives on through the lives he touched, the laughter he shared, the work of his hands, and the love he gave so freely. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
