Mrs. Lynette Marie Beatty Laine

God blessed us with the joy of Lynette Marie Beatty on June 4th, 1962. What a surprise when the doctor said, “Mrs. Beatty, PUSH!” Again! At that moment, the secret went public. Coming home with a packaged deal: “The Twins!” Instantly, the family of Mr. Isaac and Mrs. Eleanor Beatty went from Tony & Tanya to Tony, Tanya & “The Twins.” The Twins moved as a unit, inseparable. They found delight in their togetherness as they grew from Tony, Tanya & “The Twins” to Tony & “The Girls” with the arrival of sister Angela. Always each other’s publicist and defender, the innocent antics of Tony & The Girls were the soap opera of Wigginton’s Beauty Shop. The best of their shenanigans will forever be stored in memory vaults marked, “If Mama & Daddy Only Knew” with files labeled, “Big Mama & Aunt Jo Almost Caught Us.” Lynette revealed her truth at Eleanor’s 75th Birthday Party when she said, “I kicked Lynise out so I could meet Mama.” Yes, Lynette, the seemingly quiet one, was often the mastermind behind the group’s actions while also serving as the don’t cross this line enforcer! Planning to attend Lafayette, The Beatty’s moved to Winburn. Lynette adjusted and became a Defender at Bryan Station High School. Entering college at EKU as a freshman, she decided to pause her pursuit of a nursing career to attend Lexington Business College. Where she obtained an associate degree with honors! Upon graduation, she served as a Secretary at Lexington Fayette County Police Department before becoming a Traffic Safety Patrol Officer. In this role, she was a trailblazer in a sisterhood of four African American female Lexington Safety Patrol Officers. After serving with joy, she pushed play on her nursing career graduating from Midway College. Lynette served in several nursing environments including area hospitals and dialysis centers. With decades of nursing experience, Lynette later joined the Health Department as a school nurse. Though Lynette was born with a best friend, she also found a friend in Jesus. Lynette decided to follow Him at the age of 6. She was baptized at Historic Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully. While both were serving as Young Adults, David Anthony “Tony” Laine found his “more than rubies” (Proverbs 3:15). Later becoming Rev. Tony and Mrs. Lynette Laine. Lynette was up for the adventure of wife and mother of The Laine Family; that included daughters Shelley, Shannon, son David and her four pawed baby, Goldie. Homework, hair, beaches and race car tracks all prepared her for her favorite title – GRANNY. Granny was an adjustment perfect for her hearts’ calling: Lovin' on the Lovins! Lynette’s love for God was shown in all things surrounding her. Lynette’s family expanded once more to include students at Carter G. Woodson Preparatory Academy and Rise STEM Academy. The students - who she called “Munchkins” – stopped by for more than a temperature check. They also came for the TLC found in her hugs and peppermints. On Saturday, May 6th, 2023, GOD called Lynette home. Lynette’s TLC will be greatly missed by her family and friends, who will be adjusting to GOD’s perfect will. When the UPS deliveries stop and the newest zippers are not broken – when Circus Peanuts go stale and Bengal paraphernalia is “the triplet’s”– When the sweet potato casserole and the butterscotch pies are no longer there – all will keep the faith and say, To God Be the Glory for the gift of Lynette Marie Beatty Laine. She was preceded in death by her father, Isaac Beatty and brother, Anthony “Tony” Beatty. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Rev. Tony Laine; children, Shelley (Markieth), Shannon and David (Amanda) Laine; grandchildren, Tyler, Taylen, Jayla, Dakota, Adrianne, Aaliyah and Amriah; her mother, Mrs. Eleanor Beatty; siblings: Samuel (Mona) Wallace, Emma Chandler, Ronald Beatty, Tanya Beatty Adams, Lynise (Eric) Jackson, Angela (Keith) Henderson, David (Amanda) Ellis, Rev. Alphonso Williams, Brenda (Fred) Whitfield, Clifton (Felicia) Blackburn and Bridgette Sykes; and a host of other family members and friends.
