Mr. Joseph Maurice "Reese" Simpson

Friday evening, God made an announcement in our lives that our beloved Joseph Maurice Simpson, who we affectionately called “Reese”, had fought a good fight and now it was time to leave the mortal house he had occupied for thirty four years to live in a mansion that was prepared by his heavenly father. We imagine that day as he began to pack for his trip. With tears in his eyes he began to look back over his life and the people that loved him most. Oh! How he would miss his mother Mary Ann Scott, whom he loved with all his heart. He thought of his father Joseph Parks and the good times they had and the love he had for him. As he made his way to the place of departure he watched his two children Malachi Gray Simpson and Maurika Walker Simpson and he thought of the memories that they had shared and the love he had for them and it would last for eternity. He loved them so much. He really disliked the thought of leaving them. He looked and realized how he was leaving his best friend and Sister Meacy Renee Simpson and he knew how strong she was and he knew that her heart would be filled with the memories they shared. As he stood there he thought of his sisters Lakeshia Beatty, Tie Beatty, Tracy Madden, and Billy Ann Love, and his brother Rico Miller and the love he had for them. Once he started towards the train with tears in his eyes he reminisced about the good times that was shared as children growing up with his cousins that he was raised with as brothers and sisters Cassandra Clemons, Antoinette, Alicia, Lamont, Ben Simpson, Daniella Clemons. He recognized his leaving would cause a void in their lives but he knew they would meet again. As the conductor yelled “all aboard” his aunts and uncles raced across his mind he thought about Darlene, Cynthia Simpson, and Brenda (Michael) Commodore, Linda, Myra Parks, Sharon Brady and Larry (Sheila) Parks, Walter Parks. He shook his head and laughed within himself when he thought about all the great times that they shared in his life. As he took his seat on the Glory bound train he remembered the love he had for his nieces Dazjha, and Jalah and how they had blossom into beautiful young women and he knew the memories and love would last eternity. He thought of his Bruh Michael Walker and his Pralltown friends and He remembered his step dad Sam Scott and Cedella Harris and the love he had for his grandmother Meacy Simpson. As the train began to slowly pull out of the station he blows a kiss and presses his hand against the window as a last jester of love and concern for his best friend and companion, Rochelle Perkins. Please know this is not the end, but only the beginning for we shall all meet again. As the train went out of sight, Reese wiped the tears of remembrance from his eyes as a smile began to grow on his face he realized he was leaving earth’s sorrows for heaven’s joy.
