Mrs. Jamie Richardson

Jamie Richardson, 68, Born on July 11, 1957, in Lexington, KY passed away peacefully on May 12, 2026, in Lexington, KY, after an extended illness, which she faced with courage, grace, and unwavering strength. Jamie was the beloved daughter of the late Thomas Coffey, Sr. and Anna Fields. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, whose love was shown not just in words, but in actions. Anyone who knew Jamie knew that her love language was acts of service, whether it was the meals she prepared with care for her family, friends, and neighbors in the Southend community, or the countless ways she brightened the lives of those around her. On Southend Day, when there were food vendors everywhere, Jamie's tent was always crowded with people wanting a plate of Jamie's delicious soul food. A dedicated member of East Second Street Christian Church, Jamie shared her gifts through many roles: a cherished member of the choir, Chairperson of the Culinary Committee, and a member of the Church Council. Her faith and service were central to her life, and she inspired many through her leadership, compassion, and unwavering commitment to her church family. Jamie was preceded in death by her grandchildren, Charles "C3" Combs and Takari Tyler; her brother, Thomas Coffey, Ir.; and her aunts, Virginia "Tootie" Watkins and Betty Channels. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 47 years, David Richardson; her children: daughters Michele (Charles) Combs, Adrienne Coffey, Davina Richardson, Destiny (Sophia) Richardson, Sabrina Richardson, LaKeisha Richardson, and DeAndrea Richardson; sons Christopher Barnett, Michael Coffey, David George, and LaMeco Richardson; special children: Antonio (La Wanda) Oxendine, Antwayne (Mesha) George and Fred (Tracey) Smith; and her special grandchildren, Donald Thurman, Michael Richardson, Emani Coffey, and Leon Edwards. Jamie also leaves behind her loving sister, Patricia Bullock, brother Walter Clay Rhodes, longtime family friends Shirley Dawson, Rev. John C. Hawkins Taylor and Tomika Taylor, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Jamie's life was a testament to love, generosity, and faith in action. Her warmth, compassion, and devotion touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed, remembered fondly, and forever celebrated by all whose lives she enriched.
