Mr. William Stanley Clark

William Stanley Clark, also known as “The Sheriff” to his many friends. Stanley was born on January 14, 1940 to Mrs. Fannie D. Kendrick and the late Mr. Clarence Clark, in Keene, KY. He was reared in Lexington, KY. The Sheriff attended Lexington Junior High School. After school, he worked for Hillenmeyer Nursery. He also helped build the floral clock in Frankfort at the Capital Building. Stanley moved to New Jersey, where he met and married his wife, Gwendolyn Bolden in 1969. Five children were born to this union. Stanley was a faithful member of Pilgrim Baptist Church in Red Bank, NJ until he returned to Lexington. Stanley worked many years in construction. He leave to cherish his memory, a very devoted wife of 46 years, Gwendolyn; his mother, Fannie D. Kendrick; mother-in-law, Essie Lee Bolden; children, David Clark, Stanley (Roxanne) Clark, Torrance (Nikki) Clark, Tamaka (Clyde) Harris, Dwight (Tanisha) Clark, and Anthony Clark Brown and wife; a special daughter, Kim Clark; five sisters, Mary G. Higgins, Barbara Taylor, Lizabeth Moffett, Paula Sizemore, and Darlene Higgins; fourteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; two aunts, Betty (Rev. Robert C.) Ragland, Mary Bell Payne; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim Bolden, Jane Bolden, Terry (Liz) Bolden, Robert (Carmell) Bolden; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends far and near.
