Troy was a graduate of Bryan Station High School, where she was known as a fashionista with custom made clothes her mother made her. She went on to work for Sears and Marroitt Hotel before her illness struck. It was one of those smiles that could make the sun come out on a cloudy day. She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Rev. James and Geneviene Chambers. Troylene leaves to cherish her memory father, James Sykes; step-mother, Donna Bryant; a son, O’Brian D. M. Sykes; a daughter, Octavia N. Sykes; a granddaughter, Camari O.M. Sykes; siblings, Jason Sykes, Carolyn Sykes, Chez Marks, Tina Thornton and Derrick Goodwin, two maternal aunts, Emma Arnold, Orontes Newton; God-sister, Angela Redman; host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends including Deb Goggins, Debra Lewis, Dorian Webb, and Walter Hamilton.
