Ms. Tracy Shields
July 2, 1962 - September 18, 2017
Tracy Shields was born on July 2, 1962, to Loraine Gardner-Ebomah and late Charles W. Shields. She departed this life on September 17, 2017. At an early age, Tracy confessed her love for Christ and joined The Historic Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Henry Clay High School and had previously worked as a Preschool Teacher. Born and raised in Lexington, Tracy was known to many for her unique laugh and humor, engaging all people as if they were a part of her family. Always the life of the party, Tracy saw life as a dancefloor - with God as the DJ, grooving to her own beat, while encouraging others to celebrate with her. Coming from a family lineage of God given distinction, talent, and beauty – handed down through the generations from Brooks Eugene & Nannie Gardner, and Wilgus & Elizabeth Smith, Tracy was a gentle flower in our family garden. Her beauty, sensitivity, humor, and bright smile will be greatly missed but never forgotten. In addition to her mother, Tracy is survived by her beautiful and talented daughter, Mylah Shields; sisters, Michone and Chiquita Shields; brothers, James Shields and Alika Ebomah. Tracy was the aunt of three nieces, Ashanti and Samirah Hall, and Aaliyah Ebomah; and four nephews, James A. and Glenn Shields, Brice Hawkes, and Aunsha Hall- Everett. Her surviving family also includes a host of Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and she will be truly missed by her many friends.
