MR Rand Lee Blathers

On Friday, May 7, 2021, God’s guardian angels flew down from heaven and whispered, “Randy, come with us. We have been sent by our Heavenly Father to take you home.” Rand Lee Blathers, was born October 19, 1966, to the late Daisy Blathers and Jake (Willie Mae) Frazier in Lamar, South Carolina. Randy, as he was always called, was a graduate of Lamar Senior High School. After leaving Lamar, he moved to Charlotte, NC, and then later to the state of Kentucky where he resided for twenty-one years. A truck driver for more than thirty years, he was the owner/operator of R&T Express LLC under the umbrella of RAJ Transport. Upon arriving in Lexington, Randy united with the Consolidated Baptist Church. Later he joined Greater Liberty Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev. John C. Lee, Jr. He was actively involved with the Ushers, Men’s and Sunday School Ministries, and had a special calling to inspire and encourage the young male members of the church. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his “Special Aunt” Beatrice Thames-Wiley. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife, Toya Blathers; one daughter, Randee Blathers, Maysville, KY; two sons, Antonio Jackson and Christopher Jackson; one grandson, Kezden, and six other grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Ann (Larry) Brunson, Lamar, SC and Theresa McNeil, Columbia, SC; an aunt, Mary L. Dixon, and three uncles, all of Lamar, SC; two brothers- in-law, Robert Lewis and Dederic Hall; two special cousins, William Thames, Charlotte, NC and Mary Timmons, Florence, SC; three very close friends, Tim Hayden, Cimaron Brown and Carlton Robinson; and a host of other cousins, church family members and many friends.
