Dea. Ralph C. White
September 15, 1956 - June 19, 2020
Ralph C. White, was born September 15, 1956 in Lexington, Kentucky to the late Walker G. White, Sr. and Ophelia B. White. The Lord took him on to Glory on June 19, 2020 at UK Markey Cancer Hospice Center. He was affectionately called “Coupe” by many of his close friends. Ralph accepted Christ at a very young age and was baptized at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church where he remained active until his health no longer permitted him to do so. He was a faithful member of his church serving as an Usher and Deacon, and leading as the Vice Chair of the Deacon Board. He loved visiting and praying with and for the sick and shut-in in their homes and in hospitals, and going to comfort people who were bereaved. He graduated from Henry Clay High School with the Class of 1975. After graduating he worked several years for the State. Then he took up a new trade and went to work for the University of Kentucky Med Center Physical Plant Department on January 2, 1984 as a painter. After 35 years of dedicated service, he retired from UK on January 2, 2019. Ralph was joined in Holy Matrimony to the former Patricia F. Green on March 30, 1991. They were blessed to have many enjoyable years together and a good life as best friends. They loved traveling, going on Family Reunion trips and were blessed to go on three cruises. He loved his family, his pet - Bentley, and his Mt. Calvary Church Family. He enjoyed camping in the Gorge, fishing every now and then, watching Westerns and MeTV, and listening to Yolanda Adams. He also enjoyed working the polls as an Election Officer, often serving as Sheriff. He was honored to be a Kentucky Colonel. When it came to football, Ralph was a die-hard Cleveland Browns fan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by grandparents, Jesse and Amy Bush. He is survived by his loyal wife and best friend, Patricia F. White; siblings, Georgia Mae Crawford, Thomas J. White, Walker G. (Mabel) White, Jr., Theresa L. White, Richard C. (Mina) White and nephew/brother, Gary (Rose) White; step-children, Paul W. Green, Monique (Paul) Taylor, and Tiffany (Norman) Fields; mother-in-law, Betty J. Green; sisters-in-law, Sharon (Charles) Lawson, Terrye (Donald) Catlett, Angela Green-Hampton, Kimberly Green-Jackson and Karen Slaughter; five grandchildren; and host of nieces and nephews and cousins, including special cousins, Andrew (RaYanne) White and J.R. (Brenda) White. Ralph will be sorely missed and fondly remembered by all those whose lives he touched.
