Min. Michael James Brown

Min. Michael James Brown was born on November 17, 1952 in Lexington (Cadentown), Kentucky to Mrs. Della and the late Mr. William Brown, Sr. Michael attended Lafayette High School. After high school, he served our country with distinction as a member of the U.S. Army. He also worked as a Master Carpenter, having many projects throughout the city. Michael united with First Baptist, Cadentown at an early age under the pastorate of the late C.M. Beatty where he sang in the choir. Later in life he joined Shiloh Baptist Church serving as an associate minister. During his ministry years, he was known for his evanglistic services in Louisville, Kentucky and on Thomas Street in Lexington. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael McMullin; a sister, Jewell Mitchell; and two nephews, Matthew Brown and Anthony Graham. Besides his mother, he is survived by a son, Juan Brown; a daughter, Mardella (Christopher) Yates; six grandchildren, Jacqueline Thornberry, Delicia Brown, Christpher Yates, Malachi Yates, Isabella Yates, and Seth Yates; a brother, William (Eva) Brown; a sister, Joyce Brown; a brother-in-law, Charles Mitchell; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
