Mother Linda Gale August

January 20, 1953 - August 13, 2020

Linda Gale Simpson August was born in Lexington, Kentucky on January 20, 1953 to Cora Mae Simpson and the late Jessie B. Simpson. Linda passed away on August 13, 2020 due to the coronavirus at Baptist Health Hospital. Linda was a graduate of Tates Creek High School. She retired after many devoted years as a caregiver for those living with developmental disabilities as well as the elderly population. Linda Gale accepted Christ at an early age at Shiloh Baptist Church and later became a member of Christ Temple under the pastorship of Elder Anna Davis. Linda then later joined and was a faithful member of the Revolution Mark 16/20 under leadership of Pastor Larry Weather, II. She later became a faith member and mother of the church at Church of Acts under the Apostleship of Apostle Tabet Wilson. She considered the members at the Church of Acts as “her members.” She loved everyone and treated everyone with the love of God even when she would fuss and say what was on her mind. She would turn around and pray and ask God to forgive her and tell the other party “I am sorry.” Linda had a very welcoming and loving spirit. She would always lend a helping hand to anyone in need and was always trying to assist others whenever she saw a need. She was known for her beautiful, loving smile and calming voice that was soothing to all who heard her. She would always speak her mind and had no problem expressing herself to all in her presence. Linda loved the Lord and always spoke of God to whoever would listen to her and she would always invite you to her church. She loved her God and her Church. In addition to her father, Linda was preceded in death by six sisters, Vikki Yvonne Ingram, Gloria (Charles) Higgins, Jessie Lee (Rodney) Lyons, Mattie Simpson (Larry) Ballard, Elizabeth Ann Simpson and Loretta Simpson. Besides her mother, Linda leaves to cherish her memory two children, Tabet Wilson and Shad Wilson; four grandchildren, Braxton Wilson, Shadaria Bybee Wilson, Jaylynn Garner and Darius Garner; three great-grandchildren, Zia Johnson, Zane Johnson and Zahvier Bybee; four sisters, Marilyn Simpson, Mary Katherine (William Cash) Gibbs, Dorothy Blackford and Jessica Simpson; four brothers, Leroy Simpson, Darryl Wayne Simpson, Charles Steven Simpson and Jess Simpson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and great friends including special friend, Calvin E. Wilson.
