Mr. LeRoy Wayne Nealy
September 2, 1952 - April 30, 2019
Leroy Wayne Nealy was born on September 2, 1952 and the fourth and youngest child of the late Leatha and Henry L. Nealy, Sr., although he was the middle of seven total children. Leroy went home to be with our Heavenly Father at KentuckyOne Heath Saint Joseph Hospital in the Hospice Unit, on April 30, 2019. At an early age Leroy confessed his hope in Christ and was baptized at the old St. John Missionary Baptist Church on Kenton Street in Lexington, Kentucky. He was employed by The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd for over 29 years. Good Shepherd did not look at Leroy as just an employee, but as part of the family, a best friend to some, and a confidant to many. Leroy loved his job and often went beyond the call of duty for whomever needed his help, even if it meant making a pot of bad coffee. Leroy loved working in his yard with his beloved wife of 38 years, Tuesday Nealy, who went home to be with the Lord a little over 13 months before him and now they are reunited once again. Leroy loved spending time with all of his family, but his greatest joy was being a grandfather. Left to cherish his memory are his four children, Andre Givens, Toyour (Boo) Nealy, Daron (Tanea) Allen, and Le'Mon (fiancé: Jamarra Burnside) Allen; his 10 grandchildren, Trinity Burnett, Lauryn Allen, Jayce Allen, Ayden Allen, Michael Lions, Le'Nyia Allen, Jai'Mon Allen, Le'Mon Allen, Jr., Karson Allen, and Malachi Cousey; six siblings, Henry (Frances) Nealy, Jr., Mary Nealy (a loving sister that also served as a mother-figure), Herb (Esther) Nealy, Sherri (Lee) Lathan, Angel Brown, and Bonita (Nasim) Williams of Atlanta, GA; a loving and devoted niece, Lisa (Rev. Adrian) Thompson; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including special friends, Herbert and Teresa Woolfolk.
