Katherine “Joyce” Bennett was born December 14, 1980 to Carnetta Davis and Greg Brown,Sr. Joyce attended Henry Clay High School. She was an employee of Xerox and a CNA. She was an original member of the Get Low Girls. Joyce was a loving and caring person always willing to help those in need. She once gave a woman the shoes off her feet because it was raining and the lady was barefooted. She will truly be missed. She was preceded in death by three grandmothers, Ruth Young, Emma Lewis, and Maurine Sharp; aunt, Laverne Bennett; an uncle, William Bennett; and a brother-in-law, Michael “Stunna” Thomas. Besides her parents Joyce leaves to cherish her memory, a daughter, Nyla Doyle; step-father, Rufus Davis; a great grandmother, Bessie Lee Gentry; a grandfather, Eugene Spicer; six sisters, Stephanie Thomas, Shaunetta “Bear” Thomas, Alnisha Lewis, Kenya Brown, Ariya Turner, Aaliyah Turner; a brother, Greg Brown, Jr.; nine aunts, Earlene Lewis, Debra Terrell, Panda (Wayne) Briscoe, Cheryl Lewis, Joyce Carpenter, Freda (Michael) Blair, pearl (Harry) Gordon, Yolanda (Phillip) Jackson, and Debra Brown; Four uncles, Alvin(Beverly) Bennett, Rufus Brown, Rodger Bennett, and William Bennett; father of Nyla, Dedrick Doyle; Godson, Julio Lopez; Goddaughter, Kashay Young; three nieces, Shauntavia Thomas, Bree’Ana Thomas and Shapreah Thomas; five nephews, Delwyn Thomas, II, Delmar Thomas, Michael Thomas, II, Triston Gentry, and Jamel Laurie; a host of great aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends, including special friends, David Griffin, Marilyn Bishop, and Cortez Bolin.
