Mr. Joseph W. Caldwell
January 20, 1943 - September 8, 2017
Joseph W. Caldwell was born to the late Jack and Mary Frances Caldwell in Mitchellsburg, Kentucky on January 20, 1943. Joe was a man who enjoyed being around his family, always looking forward to the familygatherings and Basket Meetings at First Baptist Church in Perryville. He was very shy until you got to know him. He would say something funny in his own quiet way. He enjoyed watching “Days of Our Lives,” reading, and was a True Blue Wildcat Fan. He was a dedicated and faithful worker at Don Jacobs Imports for over 30 years and continued his close relationships with Mr. Jacobs and the Jacobs family long after retiring. Before he lost his speech, he told the staff at Rockcastle Regional Hospital how God had been good to him and that he trusted the Lord. Joe Caldwell was well known by his smile. He always had a smile on his face and never complained about his aches and pains. Joe was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Caldwell Demus; three sisters, Betty Barleston, Catherine Caldwell, and Rose Caldwell; four brothers, James Caldwell, John Caldwell, Charles Caldwell and George Caldwell. He leaves to cherish his memory five sons, Donald (Antoinette) Caldwell, Timothy (Shalon) Caldwell, Williams (Dovie) Caldwell, Joseph Allen Caldwell, and James Caldwell-Hagan; two daughters, Virginia (Rev. Anthony Arnold) Caldwell, and Pat Hall; 24 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Charlotte) Caldwell; a sister, Mae Dale Walker; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
