Mr Jimmy Lee Baughman

January 31, 1949 - April 11, 2021

Jimmy Lee Baughman, 72, departed this life unexpectedly on Sunday, April 11, 2021, at his home in Lexington, Kentucky. He was a native of Stanford, Kentucky, attended Lincoln High School before moving to Danville, KY where he graduated from Danville High School. He enlisted in the United States Air Force after graduation and during his term of service was called to active duty in the Vietnam War. He served as a soldier on the front line and later received an honorable discharge. He then located to Charleston, South Carolina where he married and worked as a welder at the Joint AF Base. He was baptized at Crab Orchard Baptist Church at a young age. Jimmy was a country boy at heart and loved to fish and hunt during his early years. He was preceded in death by his father, Leslie R. Baughman, his mother, Mollie M. Baughman; both his maternal and paternal grandparents; and a grandson, Ryan Baughman. Later in life Jimmy returned to Kentucky, where he loved life and lived it to the fullest. He leaves to cherish his memory five children, Jerome Baughman (Lexington, KY), LaTonya Baughman (Georgia), Shanika Baughman (North Carolina), Shanetta (Umekus) Watts (Virginia) and Monique Baughman (Lexington, KY); three grandchildren: Clarissa Baughman, Darius Baughman and Isis Simmons; four great- grandchildren: Kurrency Baughman, Nahla Baughman, Leighton Baughman and Zhariah Baughman; five sisters, Bettie Walker, Barbara Menifee, Patricia Baughman, Rachel (Wayne) Isbell and Phyllis Baughman (all of Lexington, KY); four brothers, William Baughman (Danville, KY), Robert (Dainelle) Baughman (McKinney, TX), Sammy Baughman and Rubin Baughman (Lexington, KY); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
