Harriet Lawton was born on May 25, 1967. She was the daughter of Henrietta Lawton and the late Joseph Lawton, Sr. Harriet was a graduate of Henry Clay High School. In her life, her passion became working in the lives of others, doing a kind of social work at the Nest became a big part of her world. She was a retired employee of Q.E.D. HiQ Lighting. Building lights for the medical profession, rock and roll bands, and other lighting professionals. She became a world traveler but her favorite destination for fun and relaxation was Gatlinburg.TN In 1999, Harriet was credited with saving the lives of two children from a burning building. She refused any accolades or publicity. Harriet loved people and enjoyed being around her family and friends. Her smile and laughter was infectious. She will be missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her father, Joseph Lawton, Sr. and son, Martaz Johnson Besides her mother, Henrietta Lawton, Harriet will be missed by the love of her life who spent the last 20 plus years in a beautiful love affair that could only be rivaled by a fairytale and they “Lived happily ever after”, her spouse, Joyce Dunn; eight children, Jermey, Christopher, LaDonna, Courtney, ChasMagic, Jaquetta, Shamika, and Tina; fourteen grandchildren; three brothers, Joseph Lawton, Jr., Glenn Richardson, Anthony (Marion) Jackson; two sisters, Sicerea Lewis, and Mary Jo Lewis; mother-in-law, Joyce Newsome; special friends, Nina Lucas, Janet Elliott, Carol Gray and Donisha Edelen; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
