Mr. Demetrius "Meech" Demont Gordon

Demetrius Demont Gordon was born on August 5, 1990 in Lexington, Kentucky, the son of Christine Gordon-Taylor and the late Frank Gordon, Jr. He passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2019. Demetrius accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and became a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev. Dr. Felix G. Williams, III. Affectionately known as "Meech," he was fun-loving man whose infectious smile would light up any room. He never met a stranger. Meech was educated in the Fayette County Public School System and was a member of Lafayette High School's Class of 2008. He continued his education at Sullivan University were he graduated with Honors. In addition to his father, Meech was preceded in death by his great- grandmother, Lucy Carr; his grandmother, Neva Smith; grandfather, Frank Gordon, Sr.; four aunts, LeeAnna Gordon, Lillian Henderson, Eloise Craig and Cheryl Ann Lewis; and an uncle, Bobby Jackson. Along with his mother, his memory will forever be cherished by his brother, Doral Gordon; three step-sisters, Ebony Hughes, Aurelia Emerson and Essence Taylor; a step-brother, Johnathon Taylor; a niece, Zaria Hughes; a nephew, Johnathon Taylor, Jr.; two aunts, Rochelle "Pinky" Welks; three uncles, Jimmy Combs, Felix Scruggs, Sr. and Chris D. Lewis, Jr.; two great-aunts, Selma McIntyre and Sarah (Richard) Davis; a great-uncle, Rev. Harry (Joyce) Davis; special cousins, Dominique Lewis and Tonda Lewis; and a host of other relatives and friends, including his "crew," DeVon Peterson, Mac Reynolds, Donte' Blake, Dewan Miller and Antonio Davis.
