Mr. Carl Thomas "CT" White

Carl Thomas “C.T.” White was born on August 6, 1950 in Lexington Kentucky to Ollie B. George and William “Bill” White. He was lovingly raised by Ollie B. and Clifford P. Henderson, Sr. He confessed his hope in Christ at an early age and became a member of the Greater Liberty Baptist Church under the tutelage of Rev. Albert Lee. He attended Fayette County Public Schools and graduated from Henry Clay High School in 1969. After High School, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and completed basic training at Parris Island, SC. He was later stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC, Yokohama, Japan, and completed his service with a tour in Vietnam. Upon returning to Central Kentucky, C.T. attended Kentucky State University and later received his Electronics Degree from Central Kentucky Area Vocational. With hard work and dedication, he worked his way to becoming a Master Electrician. He later worked at the Veteran’s Administration (VA) Hospital where he was very well known throughout the campus. He also worked on the African Coalition at the VA Hospital. Carl was also a very vocal volunteer and community member and was active with the East End Family Reunion Coalition and the Charles Young Community Center. He was also active with the Kentucky Democratic Party and the Veterans’ Outreach Program. Carl was an active member of King Solomon Lodge No. 8. He was a Past Master of Sardis Lodge No. 8, Royal Arch, Knights of Templar and Ismid Temple No. 110. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #132, and a Kentucky Colonel. He was a member of the first Black Firefighters Union in Lexington, Kentucky, formed in the 1980s, and named the Brothers Loving Others and Opposing Destruction (BLOOD). Carl was a very well-known DJ and Sound Man all across the commonwealth. He was known as “C.T. White, The World’s Famous Black Knight.” Carl was preceded in death by his parents, William White and Ollie and Clifford Henderson; two sons, DeMarcus White and Carl White; and six siblings, James Hamilton, Della White, Billie Joyce White Seals, Greg White and Clifford P. Henderson, Jr. He leaves to cherish his memory his five surviving children, Buffy Crutchfield, Annette Champion, Jasmine White, Ebony Benton and Jeremy Duncan; eight grandchildren, Blake Nutter, Tiara Nutter, Haanz Nutter, Dominique Crutchfield, Bryanna Champion, Jeremy Duncan, Jr., Jeremiah Adams and Alessia Hawkes; four great-grandchildren, ZaMya Clay, Lariah Sturgis, Alexus Nutter and Aliyah Nutter; brothers and sisters, Robert (Rosemary) White, Barbara Jean (Calvin) Underwood, William (Teresa) Silverburg, Gertrude (James) Hill, Joyce (Alvin) Taylor, Charles White, Louis Henry “LH” Kavanaugh, Francis Kavanaugh, Joyce Parks, Aloysius (Angel) Brown, Georgie Mae Sanon, William (Zenobia) Dansby, Michelle Owens, Tony (Kim) Wright, Sr., Clayton Mayberry, Tina Jones, Djuan Gary White and Christopher Jason Talley; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, other family members and many friends.
