Elder Bernice Ray Holt Sr

Bernice Ray Holt, Sr. was born on June 18, 1946 in Hart County, Kentucky to the late Richard Holt and Christine (Barbour) Holt. He departed this life in the early morning of February 3, 2019. "Ray" as some called him, worked for the Lexington Fayette Urban County Government as a painter for 9 1/2 years. To take care of his family, he stepped out on faith and started working for himself. He was a member of the Church of God in Jesus' Name where he was baptized in the name of Jesus and filled with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost. He was the Assistant Pastor to the late District Elder Robert Lewis. In 2003, he started his own ministry by the name of House of Prayer for All Nations where he worked diligently until he became ill and retired. He was married to Pearlena Holt for 42 years. He was preceded in death by one sister, Pastor Bertha Ann Morrison; three brothers, William Thomas Holt, Will Henry Holt and Joe Edward Holt; and two brothers-in-law, James Ewan Morrison and Billy Phillips. In addition to his wife Pearlena, he leaves to cherish his memory four daughters, Lisa Young, Christina Brown, Teresa Young and Roselena Holt; three sons, Bernice Ray Holt, Jr., Christopher (Monique) Holt and Paul Marcus Holt, 19 grandchildren; 13 great- grandchildren; four sisters, Rosemary Phillips, Margie (Dwight) Jones, Judy (Thomas)Johnson and Linda Cline; one sister-in-law, Peggy Holt; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
