Ms. Annie Pearl Rice

Annie Pearl Rice affectionately known as “Mama Rice”, 78, of Andalusia, Alabama was born to Clifford Chambers and Louise Goodin on March 3, 1938. Annie attended First Baptist Church in Andalusia, AL where she accepted Christ at a very early age. She graduated from Covington County Training School in 1956 as class valedictorian. She later moved to Birmingham, AL and joined Mt. Carmel Baptist Church were she was an active member of the choir. She worked in the Birmingham School System until she moved to Lexington, KY. Her dedication and pilgrimage continue at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church where she was a faithful servant. Annie voice touched so many souls as she lifted the Lord up through songs and praise. “Praise is what she did”. Annie is preceded in death by her son, Joel Clark (Wendy) Rice ; parents, Clifford Chambers and Louise Goodin, one sister Aileen Horns Young and one brother Charlie C. Toney. Annie is survived by her son Victor T. (Bridgett) Rice of Lexington, KY. Four loving sis- ters: Odessa (Reuben) Stovall of New Jersey, Betty Sue (James) Benson and Nancy (Earnest) Middleton of Andalusia, AL, Pearl (Earlie) Fair of Jackson, FL, Two devoted brothers: Willie (Mary) Toney of Detroit, MI and Albert Goodin of Andalusia, AL. Ten grandchildren: LaTasha (Eric) Barnum of Atlanta, GA, Victor Rice of Louisville, KY. Brittany Rice, Jerrod Rice and Dyron Carter of Lexington, KY. Joshua Chapman of Tuscaloosa, AL. Jermarius (Tiandra) Moore of Las Vegas, NV. Monjea Gant of Birmingham, AL. Cheriante and Sparkles Steele of Lexington, KY.; host of nieces, nephews and great grandchildren including her heartbeat - Dominque J. Rice.
